Not for the faint of heart, but really deep synthesis. Makes most other music apps seem way overpriced. Controllers are the one area where more sophisticated modules would be good. The keys module is fairly Spartan. It would be handy to be able to create a custom controller that controls several parameters sent to several modules while also controlling pitch.

This appears to be a very powerful tool for exploring sound design. It is very robust, with many features, but desperately needs a good user manual. There are some materials available but they fall far short of a good instruction manual.

Is very cool but the FTP does NOT work well, also, there should be better documentation. Whats the use of building patches if you cant export audio easily.

almost a 5 star-er. really excellent in many ways - like being able to animate the nodes giving very cool unpredictable results! i really hope to see an update with audiobus - id pay $10 in-app for that functionality in this app!

This is the most amazing sound making app available. Ive recommended it to everyone I know who makes music, especially if theyre into crazy and original synth sounds. Incredibly powerful and flexible. You could buy $10,000 of sampling and modular synth hardware or you could buy this app. Others have described the interface as non-intuitive or difficult to learn, but I have actually found it to be the most intuitive for what it does. I find this far easier to work with than those that emulate hardware interfaces.

I have a few of the modular synthesizer-type apps. This one has become my new favorite. It seems very intuitive to me. And you can learn a lot about modular synthesizers and signal paths. Or at least Im learning a lot. I guess I dont know about you. But for me this was worth every penny and I bought all of the IAP. I think the main thing I have to be careful of with this app is I could end up playing just this, or at least just this through all kinds of Audiobus filters and effects and loops. Very addictive.

Ok, generally I like noodling for notes, but this frustrating gadget is only for the pen protector crowd, people willing to push little circles around for three hours just to make one screechy sound. There are hundreds of apps that do the same thing with one one hundredth of the time--which saves you some time to create music. Also, in spite of the fact that you cant record without "buying" record, they nonetheless trigger the red bar at the top of your iPad that you are recording, which youre not. But it stays up there for the remaining lifetime of your iPad--unless you delete, because they dont tell you what arcane command makes it go away, which in my case is ok. I figured it out: delete!

This is a BIG update. 5 starts based on their generosity alone. I will update this review after Ive had time to explore the new Jasuto.

Tons of new features to enjoy, love it!

I am brand new to Jasuto, though have played with Audulus. This seems more approachable for a modular synth of this type. Thank you goes to the generosity of the dev, and the thoroughness of the PDF manual. I can see much time vaporizing for me enjoying this app, and that can indeed be a good thing! I will update this once I get to really sink my teeth into it. Talk about an app awaking from a long slumber full of fresh energy!

First off: cannot believe I waited this long to try Jasuto. Modular creaminess galore. Does loads of things - drum synth, sequences, fx, pads, self-generating ambient scapes, very thick sexy basses, and once you get used to the kind of weird but efficient workflow its really easy to tweak stuff simply by moving the modules around. I have almost every other modular available for iPhone, but can already tell this is going to be more fun and sonically rewarding than the rest. Just... WOW.

Definetely best modular synth App, last update includes all paid features, thank you so much Chris, I feel in debt with you, gave us much than we paid for, so count with me supporting Jasuto future adds, excellent work!

With the last couple of updates this app has become the super app its always promised to be. Im so glad it hasnt been abandoned. Audiobus and now midi has made this again the reason I bought an ipad. It is so many things: a sequencer, sampler, synth, modular/math, granular/slicer, and now a midi controller. Just amazing.

Jasuto is one of the older modular synths on iOS, and it was recently (July 2014) revived with an update to add AudioBus and unlock the IAPs that were previously for sale. I found this app very comparable to SunVox, in all the ways that are good and bad. The possibilities with this thing are virtually endless - it can play samples, create tons of synth sound, and do effects. It also added MIDI control, though there are some interesting scale-based keyboards within the app. I do still find that its a bit intimidating to figure out how to get all of these features to work, but they made a lengthy manual available online. What we really need now is a tutorial video or 10 to really help people discover that functionality. But at the sale price I paid for it, what a fun and excellent modular synth!

Ok its been well over a month and no update. Audiobus does not work at all so dont believe that it will. Why keep selling the app if you are not going to continue it? Update:: website is back up. But no update to the fact that Audiobus no longer works. I bought Audiobus just to use with this app now I am out a few dollars. I wonder how many more people are also out the money?

Good app, but AB not working. Gladly give it 5 stars when updated. Updated 5 stars.

It simply does not work. The app does not open. Ive tried deleting it and reinstalling, but still nothing. I gave the App Store my five dollars, and I got nothing in return!
